Dating startup pitch deck outline
A slide-by-slide outline for raising in a skeptical category, built around what investors actually test.
Reviewed by an operator. Last updated June 27, 2026. Led by founder and CEO Bill Alena, backed by a team of industry experts with over 100 years of online dating experience between them.
Investors in dating have seen the optimistic version many times. This outline is built to do the opposite: lead with honest, defensible substance. Adapt the order to your story, but cover every element, because a serious investor will ask about each.
The slides
- One-liner and wedge. What you are, who for, and the specific niche or community you own.
- The problem and the shift. The intent shift away from low-intent dating, and the gap incumbents cannot fill.
- Product. How you get users to a real outcome, not just engagement.
- The cold start, solved. How you create or access liquidity; name it directly rather than hiding it.
- Traction by cohort. Real cohort retention and paying users, segmented, not vanity downloads.
- Unit economics. ARPPU, conversion, churn, net LTV, CAC payback, net LTV to CAC. Net, not gross.
- Acquisition. Channel mix and cost per paying user by side and geography, with payback.
- Trust, safety, and compliance. How you handle scams, moderation, and age assurance; now table stakes.
- Market. Sized by segment and geography, not a single global figure.
- Why now and why you. The operator credibility and timing that make this the moment.
- The honest risks. Name the hard parts and your plan for them; this builds credibility.
- The ask and the use of funds. What you are raising and the milestones it buys.
How to use it
Lead with substance, keep every number net and honest, and present the hard parts rather than hiding them. The founders who raise in this market sound like operators who understand the category, not storytellers selling a market-size dream.
