Built by an operator who spent 25 years in the business.
Venture capital has retreated from dating, founders are self-funding to exhaustion, and most industry coverage is compromised by the sponsor money it runs on. High Intent is the opposite: honest analysis, hands-on help, and capital for the people actually building, from people who have built.
High Intent is led by its founder and CEO, Bill Alena, a revenue and growth executive who has spent more than 25 years scaling dating companies.
As CRO of myYearbook, he built the revenue operation from $0 to $100M+. As CRO of The Meet Group (NASDAQ: MEET), he ran all monetization (advertising, subscription, and in-app) for a public dating company and helped grow it through four acquisitions. As Chief Investment & Growth Officer of Social Discovery Group, he grew revenue from $200M to $350M, led M&A, and ran a corporate venture fund dedicated to the dating ecosystem.
Behind him sits a team of industry insiders and experts with over 100 years of online dating experience between them. They have built, run, marketed, and sold dating businesses at every scale. Bill is the face of High Intent. The bench behind him is the rest of the answer.
The thesis
The thesis is simple: dating is going intentional. People are done with endless swiping and casual churn. They want clarity, real intent, and a genuine shot at a relationship, online and offline. The companies that serve that shift will define the next decade of the industry, and they deserve better than sponsored coverage, generalist consultants, and brokers who have never run a dating business.
So High Intent reports on the industry honestly, gives builders a platform that solves the cold start, puts operators in their corner, or runs the department outright, and brings capital to the table. Helping people meet people, not profiles.
On stages and around tables, with the people building.

Independent by principle.
"High Intent runs media, services, capital, and a platform business, and operates its own brands. The newsroom is editorially independent of those lines, and every conflict is disclosed."
No sponsored coverage
We do not sell sponsorships to the companies we cover. The wedge against a sponsor-funded trade press is the whole point.
Every conflict disclosed
Where we own, advise, or are evaluating a company we write about, the piece says so, plainly, at the top.
Even-handed by design
In the newsroom, our own brands are profiled and covered on the same terms as our competitors.
Five lines, one company.
News
Independent industry news, original reporting, and the founder's weekly column. Free to read, every conflict disclosed.
Platform
The white-label dating platform that launches brands into an active network from day one.
Services
Consulting, fractional executives, and fully managed departments. We do the work, or run the function, for a service management fee.
Capital
One deals practice: acquisitions, raises, sales, and sourcing, with the truth about your odds.
Events
The anti-conference: working sessions, clinics, and operator dinners. You leave with a plan.
The consumer brands we own and operate, DatingLab, Smooch, Just Singles, DatingAgency, WooWise, Gloh, and Mixxy, all run on our own platform. Group properties also include Dating Partners, Dating Industry Insights, Dating Summit, and Which Dating.
Talk to a person, not a process.
A story, a launch, a problem, or an exit. Whatever brought you here, it starts with a direct conversation.
